Freshmen finish 8-1 with 33-6 Win
The freshmen football team ended on a great note Friday night in Norwalk. The Cats finished the season with an 8-1 record beating Norwalk 33-6. It was an amazing season to be apart of and a great group of players. The offense was rolling from the start with Kire Seskis having 159 yards on the ground on 18 carries and scoring a touchdown. Chase Shanahan ran the ball 11 times for a total of 43 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Pierce ran for 50 yards and threw for 42 yards while completing 4 of 6 pass attempts. Brian Robertson led the team with 2 catches for 20 yards; while Max McCay caught the lone touchdown threw the air. Offensive leaders at the end of the season were: Passing – Jordan Pierce 914 yards and 8 touchdowns, Rushing – Kire Seskis 700 yards and 6 touchdowns, Receiving – Brian Robertson 341 yards and 4 touchdowns. The leaders were able to amass this many yards with the help of a line that grinded all season long! The defensive side of the ball was fun to watch on Friday. Norwalk scored on a last minute touchdown and was not able to get any flow throughout the game. Chase Shanahan who had 8 tackles on the night and Brandon Bui who had 8 tackles while recovering a fumble and stripping the ball carrier led the defensive. Nick Klier and Andrew Hill both chipped in with 7 tackles apiece and Hill also had a fumble recovery. Joe Crowley had 6 tackles including a strip. Many other Wildcats joined in on the tackling effort. Coaches Comments: It was an amazing year and I am proud of everyone that was apart of this years freshmen team. All of us coaches were experiencing coaching for the first time and could not be prouder of the group of men we were able to work with on a daily basis. We want to thank everyone and hope to see everyone out again next year!
Another come-from behind win for 9th Wildcats
The Freshmen Wildcats won a thriller at home against Chariton 35-34. The Cats trailed at half time 22-6 but kept their heads high and battled throughout all 4 quarters to make an amazing comeback. The Cats push their record to 7-1 for the year with their last game of the season coming on Friday at Norwalk.
The Cats offense was led by a rushing attack from Jordan Pierce, Chase Shanahan, Kire Seskis, and Peyton Stephens. Pierce had 117 yards on the ground with just 11 carries and finding the end zone 2 times. He also through for 78 yards to multiple receivers. Shanahan had 83 yards on the ground all coming in the second half on 11 carries. Seskis had 61 yards and scored a touchdown; while Stephens pitched in with 35 yards on the ground. Brian Robertson led the way through the air with 2 catches and racking up 33 yards. The offensive line worked all game to keep the ball moving on the ground opening many holes for our running backs.
There were many people who stepped up on defense and helped out on the winning effort. Leading the way was Chase Shanahan who had 12 tackles. Andrew Burnett chipped in with 9 total tackles on the night. Nick Klier had 7 tackles; while Brandon Bui had 5 tackles including a sack. Pierce had 5 tackles including an interception. There were many men who had 4 tackles on the night.
This win took every guy on the team whether it was on offense, defense, or special teams. It was an amazing win that nobody will forget that was apart of it. The Cats close their season at Norwalk on Friday. Hope to see everyone out at the game.
Freshmen move to 6-1 with 42-0 victory
The Wildcat Freshmen keep on their winning ways against Centerville last Friday. The Wildcats dominated the entire game with the final score being 42-0. Everyone was able to pitch in for this winning effort in making the Cats record come to 6-1!
The running game was the main source of offense for the Cats scoring on the ground five different times from four different guys. Chase Shanahan had 8 carries for 66 yards and scoring 1 touchdown. Kire Seskis had 5 carries for a total of 60 yards rushing finding the end zone 2 different times. Peyton Stephens had 7 carries for 34 yards and scoring 1 touchdown. Jordan Pierce only carried the ball twice but found the end zone 1 time. Pierce also was 3-4 through the air throwing for 54 yards. Brandon Bui led the receivers with 2 carries for 47 yards.
The defense was on the top of their game Friday not letting Centerville find the end zone one time. Shanahan led the way with 9 tackles and a blocked punt. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Joe Crowley had 6 tackles one of those being a sack. Andrew Hill had 6 tackles mixed in with Andrew Burnett’s effort of 5 total tackles. Josh Beener led the way for special teams collecting 5 tackles. Many others combined on the efforts for the Cats.

Late Game Heroics Lift Freshmen to Win
It took all 4 quarters but the Carlisle Freshmen team came out with the win vs. Knoxville 28-24. The win was a hard fought battle that was an entire team effort.
Kire Seskis ran behind his line with 4.7 seconds left to take the lead back from Knoxville for good. Seskis led the way on the ground with 124 yards on 17 carries. Chase Shanahan ran for 38 yards on 7 carries. Through the air Jordan Pierce had a phenomenal day completing 11 passes on 19 attempts for 239 yards. Pierce found six different receivers on his way to a career high. Kire Seskis was his main target on the day catching the ball 3 times for a total of 82 yards. Brian Robertson had 3 catches for 62 yards. Also making catches on the night were; Brandon Bui – 41 yards, Zach Emberlin – 34 yards, Max McCay – 17 yards, and Peyton Stephens – 3 yards.
Leading the way on defense was Chase Shanahan who had a total of 20 tackles on the night. Joe Crowley had 8 tackles including the games only sack. Brandon Bui had 7 tackles including a force fumble recovered by Stephens. Stephens also helped the team with 9 tackles on the night. Andrew Burnett had 7 tackles after being out for the beginning of the season with an injury. Andrew Hill also chipped in the defensive effort with 7 tackles. Many others were in on tackles as the defense and special teams played a vital role in this win.
The Cats start the year with a record of 5-1 and will be traveling to Centerville on Friday looking to continue their winning ways. Hope to see you at the field!
9th Cats suffer first defeat
The Carlisle Freshmen football team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Pella Dutch. The hard fought game was decided by a score of 8 – 6.
The offensive leaders for the Cats starts with Jordan Pierce who was 8 – 14 passing with a total of 96 yards through the air. Brian Robertson was Pierce’s main connection, connecting 3 times for a combined 44 yards. Pierce also had 17 yards rushing on the ground compiled with Kire Seskis who ran the ball 13 times for a total of 48 yards rushing.
The leaders on the defensive side were Chase Shanahan who compiled 12 tackles on the night. Peyton Stephens chipped in with 10 tackles. Andrew Hill had 6 tackles, two of which were sacks. Jordan Pierce had 8 tackles along side Mason Henrichs who added 7 tackles. Brian Robertson helped the defensive cause with 6 tackles with a strip on the ball carrier that was recovered by Joe Crowley.
It was a tough loss for the Wildcats but they will be back in action on the 28th of September as they travel to Knoxville.
Freshmen Win 27-12
The Wildcats notched another win after Friday night's game in Winterset. With a 27-12 victory over the Huskies, Carlisle moves to 4-0. The game was a battle from the beginning with the Cats showing great resilience to fight through the win.
The offense for the Wildcats came from everywhere on Friday with four guys having catches and five guys running the football. The main source of scoring came through the air with Jordan Pierce connecting on a 5 yard pass to Brandon Bui and then later on in the game finding Max McCay for a 19 yard touchdown pass. Pierce threw for 121 yards through the air also finding Nate Snyder and Chase Shannahan throughout the game. On the ground, the Wildcats were a balanced attack with Pierce leading the way rushing for 67 yards. Chase Shannahan ran for 48 yards and finding his way to the end zone twice. Kire Seskis ran for 42 tough yards along with Mason Henrichs 28 yards and Peyton Stephens for 13 yards. All of the yards on the ground were not easy to come by and our work from our offensive linemen up front made these yards possible.
Leading the way on defense was Shannahan who was in on 15 tackles and 1 sack. Henrichs had 13 tackles while Andrew Hill was in on 10 tackles. Jordan Pierce also helped the Wildcats on defense with 2 interceptions. Defense was a team effort this week with many other guys getting in on the action.
The Wildcats will be under the lights this Friday as Pella comes to town. The Wildcats are looking for a 5-0 start as they try to defend their home turf for Homecoming Friday night.
9th Cats Remain Undefeated at 3-0
The Wildcats have started off the season with a perfect 3-0 record getting a win against Oskaloosa on Friday September 7, 2012. The lead being 20-18 at half time was opened up in the second half with the Cats winning 45-26. The scoring came from all over for the Wildcats both on the ground and through the air, but the biggest attack came from the duo of Jordan Pierce and Brian Robertson. The two connected through the air 7 times for a total of 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. Pierce found 3 other targets to go 10-12 on the day with 3 touchdowns and 194 yards through the air. This is a season high for Pierce. Kire Seskis who had 91 yards on 10 carries and Chase Shanahan who had 9 carries for 45 yards and 1 touchdown headed the running attack. Seskis also had a 95 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Pierce chipped in having 6 rushing attempts for 77 yards and 1 touchdown. Peyton Stephens had 2 carries for 52 yards included a touchdown. It was an overall defensive effort for the Wildcats with many guys helping out the cause. Nick Klier led the way with 9 tackles, 2 of which were for a loss. Mason Henrichs had 8 tackles along with an interception. Robertson and Stephens both chipped in with 8 tackles. Chase Shanahan had 7 tackles and 2 for a loss. Joe Crowley had 7 taclkes, 2 of the tackles were for a loss with a strip and a fumble recovery. Many other Wildcats were in on the effort. The Wildcats will be back in action as they travel to Winterset on Friday, September 14th.
Freshmen move to 2-0
The freshmen Wildcats moved to 2-0 with a 24-10 victory over the Ballard Bombers. The offensive highlights came from many but Kire Seskis led the way. He had 93 yards on 10 carries including two rushing touchdowns. Also carrying the bulk of the offensive load was Payton Stephens and Chase Shanahan. Stephens had 48 yards on 12 carries while Shannahan had 72 yards on 11 carries. QB Jordan Pierce ran for 18 yards and was 4-8 passing for 44 yards. The defense was led by Shannahan who accumulated 13 tackles including two tackles for loss. Mason Henrichs and Andrew Hill both had 6 stops and Hill also had a blocked punt. Matt Miller had an interception and Jacob Henkelman also helped with a fumble recovery. Many Cats were in on tackles and every player contributed in some sort of fashion towards the winning effort. The Cats play again at home on Friday, September 6th vs. the Oskaloosa Indians.
Carlisle moves to 1-0 with 26-6 victory
The Carlisle Wildcat freshmen football team started their season with a convincing 26-6 victory over the Toreadors of Boone in both team's season opener. Jordan Pierce and Brian Robertson came together for the first TD of the season which also sparked the offense. Pierce passed for 41 yards and 1 TD while rushing for 21 yards. Chase Shannahan was the team's leading rusher with 39 tough yards including a 26 yard TD. Kire Seskis had 11 carries for 22 yards and Mason Henrichs also had a rushing TD. Shannahan paced the defense with 11 tackles including a forced fumble and two blocked punts. One of these punts he picked up and ran back for a defensive touchdown. Joe Crowley was another force on defence with 11 tackles with 5 of those tackles being for a loss. Robertson chipped in with 2 tackles for loss and 2 interceptions. Henrichs recorded 7 tackles, Andrew Hill 6, and Payton Stephens with 4. Freshmen kicker Hector Cortez was 2/3 on extra points. The Cats will be back in action on Friday, August 30th when they host the Ballard Bombers
