The JV Wildcats closed out their season in Norwalk with a loss to the Warriors 20-8. Offensively, the Cats were unable to score. Kire Seskis completed 3 of 10 passes for 38 yards. He connected with Jensen Mikesell for 10 yds , Max McCay for 9 yds and Nate Snyder for 9 yds. Seskis rushed 11 times for 53 yards and Mason Henrichs led the team with 72 yards on 17 attempts. The defense was on the field a great deal. McCay intercepted two Norwalk passes returning one for a 7 yard touchdown. Henrichs converted the 2 point attempt. Leading the team in tackles was Andrew Burnett with 12 . Damon Piatt ended the night with 10 and finishing with 6 tackles were Nick Klier and Noah Schmitt. The Cats complete the season with 3 wins and 5 losses.
JV Suffers Second One Point Loss
The JV Wildcats were not able to pull out the win Monday night losing 14 to 13 to a gritty Chariton squad. The Wildcats were able to move for a total of 211 yards in total offense. Unfortunately we fumbled the ball 7 times losing it 4 times. Leading the offense was Kire Seskis completing 3 of 5 passes for 58 yards. Catching the ball was Max McCay for a 34 yards TD strike. The PAT attempt by Anthony Fuentes was good and the Cats led 7-0. Also catching the ball was Brandon Bui (6 yds)and Jensen Mikesell (18 yds). Seskis helped the cause in rushing for 56 yds on 15 attempts with a 27 yd TD. The PAT was blocked and that was the difference in the game. Also rushing tonight was freshman Gabe McCoy (9/22yds) and sophomore Mason Henrichs lead all rushers with 72 yards on 15 carries.
On defense the Cats were able to hold Chariton to 136 yards on only 9 offensive drives. Leading the defense was Andrew Burnett with 12 tackles followed by Lucas Gronewold with 11 tackles. Nate Guenther contributed 5 tackles, sacking the QB twice. Also with 5 tackles were Nick Klier and Hunter Warren. A tough night for the Wildcats, but now it is time to get ready for Norwalk in 3 days.

JV Runs Past Knoxville 42-24
Carlisle’s offense lit up the stats this week with 441 yards of offense and 5 TD's. Special teams added another TD with Zack Emberlin's 65 yd punt return. The defense was not to be outdone and scored 2 points on a Knoxville safety. The final score was 42 to 24 in the Wildcat win. Leading the offense was Peyton Stephens rushing 239 yds on 17 attempts with 3 TD's . He also caught a 56 yd pass from Kire Seskis. Kire went 5 for 10 on the night passing for 129 yards and rushing for an additional 48 on 7 attempts. Mason Hendrichs rushed for 23 yards on 9 attempts and caught a pass for 7 yards. Also catching balls from Seskis was Max Becker (1/13 yds) and Zack Emberlin (2 for 53 yds).
Leading the defense for Carlisle was Andrew Burnett with 10 tackles. Also contributing to the defensive effort was Nick Klier (8), Nate Snyder (6), Damon Piatt (5), Max Becker (4) and Luke Endecott (4 including a fumble recovery). Max McCay snagged an interception near the end of the game to thwart a Knoxville big gain. Overall the team looked good and the O-Line and D-Line played big in tonight’s win. This brings the JV Wildcats to 3 and 3 on the season.

Dutch with Win over Cats
The Pella JV handled the ball well and rushed to a 41 to 6 win over the JV Wildcats. Nate Snyder took the QB position for the first time all year and went 5 for 8 throwing the ball for 41 yards. He spread the ball between 3 receivers including Brandon Bui (3/28yds), Peyton Stephens (1/ 2yds) and Zach Emberlin (1/11yds). Leading on the ground for Carlisle was Peyton Stephen (13/55yds and one touchdown) followed by Mason Henrichs (14/38yds). Defensively the Wildcats were led by Mason Mumm with 13 tackles. Other tackle leaders were Andrew Burnett (8), Peyton Stephens (7) and Sam Stickley (6). Max McCay and Sam Stickley recovered Pella fumbles with one stripped by Jose Fuentes.

Huskies Hang on to Beat JV Cats 20-13
Both teams scored on their first possessions of game and then both defenses dug in to keep the game tied through half. Winterset came out in the second half and scored a quick TD but the Cats responded on defense with a fumble recovery by Sam Stickley which he returned 50 yards for a TD. The extra point attempt was made by Jose Fuentes to put the Cats in the lead for the first time 13 to 12. A fumble deep in Carlisle territory in the 4th quarter resulted in a TD, putting Winterset in the lead for good. Offensively for Carlisle Mason Henrichs had 20 yards on 11 attempts with a 1 yd TD. Kire Seskis threw 4 completions on 6 attempts for 45 yards and rushed for 26 yards on 5 attempts. Catching the ball was Max McCay 2/28yd, Jensen Mikesell 1/13 yds and Henricks 1/4yds. Defensively, Andrew Burnett led the team with 21 tackles followed by Mason Mumm with 17 tackles and Damon Piatt with 7. This brings the JV Wildcats to 2 and 2 on the season.

JV Rolls Osky 46-7
Carlisle JV Wildcats had a BIG night against the Oskaloosa Indians winning the game decisively 46 to 7.
The offense had an extremely productive night scoring on 7 of 8 possessions. The Cats scored 6 rushing touchdowns and one passing. Leading the offensive stats was Peyton Stephens with 99 yards and 2 TD’s. Also scoring was Mason Henrichs with 2 TD’s (88 yards) and freshman Brendon Smith with a TD (total of 40 yards). Kire Seskis called the plays and rushed for 79 yards with a TD and passed for 127 yards with a TD to Jensen Mikesell of 15 yards. Also catching the ball was Brandon Bui, Peyton Stephens , Max McKay and the longest pass of 48 yards was caught by Zach Emberlin.
Defensively, the Cats were stingy, only allowing 160 total yards and one TD for the Indians. Leading the defense with tackles was Andrew Burnett with 10 tackles. A quartet of defenders got 6 tackles each including Lukas Gronewald, Jonathan Hobson, Sam Stickley and Max Becker. Three defenders snagged the ball out of the air from the Indians with one being returned for a TD at the very end of the game by Luke Endecott. Unfortunately, it was called back for a penalty – but extremely exciting for the Stat Man. Max Becker and Noah Olander intercepted the other two. All in all – a great win for the Cats bringing their record to 2 wins and 1 loss.

JV Defeats Boone 35-14
The Cats looked good in their season opener in Boone. After getting stung by the first drive by Boone resulting in a touchdown the defense dug in and put up a great effort against a much bigger opponent. The Boone offense was only able to score another 6 points for the rest of the game. Offensively the Cats had all their weapons in play combining for 381 total yards in offense. QB Jordan Pierce went 9 for 13 for 216 yards connecting with seven different receivers. Three passing TD’s were scored by Kire Seskis (47 yds), Brian Robertson (71 yds) and Brayden Burke (40 yds). Jordan also led the rushing attack with 79 yards with his longest scamper of 57 yards resulting in a TD. Also contributing to the rushing effort was Chase Shannahan (59 yards & 1TD); Kire Seskis (17yds) and Peyton Stephens (8 yds). Defensively the Cats were led in tackles by Mason Mumm (10), Sam Stickley (7), Chase Shannahan and Max McCay (6). Other defensive notables were a blocked punt by Lukas Gronewald and a blocked pass by Noah Schmitt on a 2 point conversion attempt by Boone. The JV Wildcats are in action next week against the Ballard Bombers in Carlisle for the home opener.

JV Comes Up Short
The Cats just missed out on winning their home opener. The Ballard JV took advantage of several Wildcat fumbles to come back in the second half and go for a 2 point conversion late in the fourth quarter to take the lead and the 22-21 win.
Carlisle points were scored 57 yard fumble recovery by Brayden Burk; a one yard rush by Mason Henrichs and a 70 yard rush by Kire Seskis. All three PAT attempts were successful by Anthony Fuentes. Henrichs led the rushing attack with 20 carries for 70 total yards. Peyton Stephens ran 5 times for 21 yards. Calling the signals was Kire Seskis who went 4 for 11 passing and also had 103 yards on 9 carries. Defensively the Cats gave up 321 yards to the Bombers. Leading the defensive charge with 9 tackles each were Andrew Burnett and Jonathan Hobson. Also contributing with 7 tackles each were Adam Van Gorp and Peyton Stephens. The Wildcats are at home again next week against Oskaloosa where they will attempt to better their 1-1 season.
